Community Support Services

Individuals with severe and persistent mental illness may qualify for community psychiatric supportive treatment (CPST) services, based on their individual needs and treatment goals.

CPST services are rehabilitative and are intended to help clients manage their symptoms of mental illness, while achieving the highest possible level of functioning. Alternative Paths’ Mental Health Case Managers work with clients in the home, school, work, or in other community settings. CPST services provide assistance with the following:

  • Learning and performing daily living skills
  • Obtaining safe, sustainable housing
  • Obtaining financial and other resources in the community
  • Mental health symptom education
  • Providing tools for symptom management
  • Developing social skills
  • Developing healthy recreational and lifestyle habits

CPST services may be conducted individually or in groups as clinically indicated by each person’s individual needs and treatment goals.
