Juvenile Drug Court Clinician

Position Summary

The Juvenile Drug Court Clinician is responsible for working with the Medina County Juvenile Probation Department in the assessment, planning, and treatment of youth involved with the Medina County Juvenile Drug Court. The Juvenile Drug Court Clinician provides assessment, referral, individual counseling, group counseling, case management, treatment planning, and other clinical duties as determined by the needs of the individual served. The Juvenile Drug Court Clinician works closely with Juvenile Probation, the Juvenile Court Judge, and others in the Juvenile Court system to ensure successful completion of Juvenile Drug Court responsibilities by program participants.


A Master’s Degree in counseling or social work with a minimum of credentials as an LSW or PC.  Independent licensure as an LISW or LPCC preferred.  Clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. 


3-5 years work experience in a behavioral healthcare setting with a clinical focus on addiction.  Prior experience with dual diagnosis clients preferred.  Experience working with the law enforcement community and juvenile probation is a plus.


Understanding of addiction treatment with skills in group facilitation, assessment, counseling and case management.   Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Adaptable, flexible, dependable and personable.  Ability to work with a wide range of professionals within the legal field. Requires strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, plan and execute effectively and efficiently.   Must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals to develop and implement successful treatment planning and programming.  Able to interact professionally with other community agencies and provide general education/ information about agency resources and services.  Proficient in Microsoft Office products, and general computer skills.
