Crisis Intervention PM Consultant

Position Summary

Provide evening and/ or weekend crisis assessment and intervention services as defined by the Ohio Department of Mental Health.  Works with family/ significant others involved with the identified client to help educate and support those people in understanding the clinical needs of the client and engage them in care planning when appropriate.  Provides pre-hospitalization screening and facilitates admissions when clinically indicated.  At times when there are multiple requests for assessments in the community, the consultant may be asked to provide backup to other clinicians as a “second-on-call.”


Master’s degree in mental health related field and licensed counselor or social worker in the State of Ohio.  Bachelor’s degree with LSW or LPC with 5 years or more clinical experience may be considered


4-6 years clinical work experience in a community or inpatient behavioral health setting.  Experience in risk assessment, crisis intervention services, and AOD assessment preferred.


Must be able to work within a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide crisis services to the general community as well as to consumers with severe and persistent mental illness.  Needs to have the ability to develop and implement plans of care constant with the needs of the consumer while protecting the safety and security of the community.  Able to provide consultation and guidance to outside resources to ensure appropriate linkages and referrals for individuals in the community.  Shall posses the ability to relate professionally with community agencies, physicians, hospitals, law enforcement, and consumer advocacy groups.   Maintains working knowledge of treatment options in the community.  Able to work with diverse and complex situations, able to multitask, be flexible, adaptable, organized, and effective in planning skills.  Must have good oral and written communication skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel).  Must live within 60 minutes driving time of Medina, Ohio.  Valid Ohio driver’s license necessary.
